Christmas Parade Winners Announced, Crowd Favorite Voting Now Open

Pepsi took the top prize at this years Christmas Parade in downtown Jamestown

The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation (JRC) is proud to announce the winners from Jamestown’s Snowball Express Christmas Parade and Holiday Celebration that was held on Friday, December 6 in downtown Jamestown. There were approximately 120 groups who participated, with over 200 units in the parade.

The following entries received an award.

Best All Around – Pepsi Beverages Co.

Best Theme Related – Vietnam Veterans of America Chapt 865 & Veterans of Modern Warfare Chapt 20

Best Business – Jamestown ICE & Storage

Best Civic/Not-for-Profit – Toys for Tots

Best Youth Involvement – Jamestown BPU

Best Animal – Humane Society

Most Creative – Hedlund Express

A new trophy will be awarded this year for Crowd Favorite.  Spectators are asked to visit the JRC Facebook page this week to vote for their favorite unit out of four pre-selected units who participate in the parade. Nominees include Allied Fire Protection with Local Union 669, Infinity Visual & Performing Arts, Babes of Wrath Roller Derby, and the Bemus Point United Methodist Church.

“This is a brand new category this year,” said Tiffani Conti, JRC Event and Programming Associate. “We wanted to find a way for the crowd to participate in selecting the best units in the parade. We encourage everyone to visit the Facebook page and participate in selecting the Crowd Favorite winner!”

Each winner will receive a commemorative parade trophy.  Winners can pick up their trophy this week at the JRC offices located at 119-121 West Third Street, Jamestown between 8am-5pm daily. Trophies are sponsored in part by Albro Advertising, Allied Fire Protection & Local Union 669, Artone, Barber Trucking, Care Givers, Casella Waste Services of Jamestown, Chautauqua Lake Twin Tier, Dependable Tow and Recovery, Elements Salon & Spa, H&R Block, Harley Davidson of Jamestown, Hector’s Power Sports, Jamestown Business College, Jamestown Community College Student Senate, Jamestown ICE and Storage, LC Marketing & Friends, Learning Disabilities Association of WNY, Lisa P’s Kreative T’s and More, Lynn Development Group, Painting Unlimited of Jamestown, Inc., Pepsi Beverage Company, and Reid’s Powersports.

“We would like to thank everyone that is involved with executing the parade including the staff, volunteers, parade participants, city officials and workers, downtown businesses and the thousands of spectators that come down to enjoy it,” said Tiffani Conti, JRC Event and Programming Associate. “The quality of every unit was exceptional and by far the best we have ever had. This event is truly a community event and each year it shows just how wonderful Jamestown is. The annual parade is a great way to end another successful year in downtown and the surrounding region.
