The Jamestown Renaissance Corporation is refreshing our Art in the Alleys project in downtown Jamestown, and we are inviting Chautauqua County senior high school students to participate.
In May of 2027, Chautauqua County art teachers will be invited to submit artwork for the annual Senior Art Show at Chautauqua Art Gallery. Approximately 10-13 pieces from the show will be selected to be reproduced and hung in the alley. We are thrilled to highlight county art students and showcase their work in Jamestown!
Art in the Alleys was first launched by the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation (JRC) in 2010 and has primarily displayed artwork by Jamestown Public School students. The program currently displays about 48 pieces, on the outside of buildings in Potters Alley, Chautauqua Art Gallery and Winter Garden Plaza. We would like to update the artwork on a rotating basis each year, with work created by seniors throughout the county.
Art Teachers should email Leslie Calimeri, [email protected] to let us know if you would like to participate.
