Host your event in Winter Garden Plaza

by | Mar 7, 2023 | Uncategorized

Vibrant downtowns have a range of events, big and small, that draw visitors and local residents to enjoy community assets, patronize local businesses, and add vitality to public spaces.

To stimulate new and better events in downtown Jamestown, the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation has $10,000 available in 2023 to support the implementation of events that make Jamestown a more interesting and dynamic place.

How to apply for support:

To request support for your event, submit a short proposal outlining the following:

·         Description: Summarize the event, including proposed location(s), date(s), and activities. Is it a new event, or are you planning to expand or improve an existing event? Do the organizers have event planning experience?

·         Budget: Outline anticipated expenses and revenues. What share of the event’s expenses would be covered by a JRC grant? (Note: the share should be less than 100%)

·         Partners: Describe organizations or businesses that will assist with implementing and promoting the event. How does the event build positive connections between community assets, businesses, and other Jamestown events?

·         Benefit: How will the event contribute to a more vibrant downtown or riverfront? What is the goal for attendance or participation?

Proposals will be considered on a rolling basis until all funds are committed. Please e-mail your proposal, or send questions to Frank Besse, JRC Urban Core Director, at Frank@jamestownrenaissance.org.

***Please note that JRC-controlled properties are available for hosting events, including Winter Garden Plaza on North Main Street and Potters Terrace at the corner of East Third and Potters Alley. Priority in funding will go to events utilizing either or both of these spaces.
