Community of Lights Decorating Contest Accepting Entries Through April 5

by | Mar 27, 2020 | Uncategorized

Jamestown Renaissance Corporation (JRC) has partnered with Chautauqua Sign to develop a Greater Jamestown community decorating contest. The decorations will help add some color to these difficult times and allow community members to safely drive around the area and check out everyone’s decorations.

Kristie Voty from Chautauqua Sign brought the idea to JRC as a way to “help people take a break from the coronavirus and do something fun with their family!” She also expressed that it would be easier for some to decorate during a time where there is no snow on the ground.

Chautauqua Sign has also made a donation towards prizes, along with a contribution from Jamestown Renaissance Corporation and Jamestown Up Close. Currently there will be at least 3 local gift card prizes, but JRC is currently seeking more. If you or someone you know is interested in donating, contact Zach at zach@jamestownrenaissance.org.

The contest is open to all residents of the City of Jamestown and towns of Ellicott, Kiantone, and Busti. Entries are being accepted online at jamestownupclose.com/lights, between now and April 5th. Entries will need to include one photo of the decorations. Online voting for winners will take place from April 8-14.

For official contest rules and more information visit jamestownupclose.com/lights. The event is also on Facebook as “Community of Lights.”

At Jamestown Renaissance Corporation we make Jamestown better through inspiration, action, and celebration. For more information on our programs visit jamestownrenaissance.org.
